CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The ASOBEXS94 Scholarship Fund is an initiative of the Association of Soppo Baptist Ex-Students Class of 1994 created to support the education of our children and invest in their future. With a seed fund of 1 million XAF, the scholarship will provide financial assistance to deserving pupils and students for the 2025/2026 academic year. It is open exclusively to children of ASOBEXS94 members and rewards academic excellence, supports those with financial need, and encourages community involvement. More than just financial aid, this fund reflects the class’s enduring commitment to uplifting the next generation and ensuring no child is left behind in the pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.

Who is eligible for scholarships?

The scholarship is open to children of ASOBEXS Class of 1994 members who:

Demonstrate academic merit
Show financial need
Exhibit community involvement

Awards Categories?

The scholarship awards will be given in two categories:

General Category: For pupils/students who demonstrate academic merit, financial need, and community involvement.
Special Needs Category: For pupils/students with special education needs who demonstrate academic merit, financial need, and community involvement.

Application Process?

To apply, please submit the following documents:

Completed online application form
Most recent transcript or academic progress report
Any additional official documents for children with special education needs, bearing evidence of the need.
Any documents deemed useful to support the application.

Evaluation Criteria?

Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria and weightings:

Academic merit (40%): transcripts and academic achievements
Financial need (30%): demonstrated financial need and impact of scholarship on educational pursuits
Community involvement (20%): extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and community service
For the Special needs category, evidence of needs will be appraised on a case-by-case basis.

Selection Process & Award Disbursement

A Selection Committee comprising ASOBEXS Class of 1994 members designated by the President will review applications and select recipients based on the evaluation criteria. Scholarships will be disbursed directly to the recipient's educational institution or in kind, as deemed fit.

The ASOBEXS Class of 1994 Scholarship Fund is pleased to announce a call for applications for the first batch of beneficiaries. A total of 1 million XAF will be distributed to deserving pupils/students for the 2025/2026 school year.
